While many have been enjoying the beautiful green spaces, litter has become an issue in Redbridge parks.

Last month, the Vision nature conservation team launched a challenge for children in Redbridge. Children aged 5-12 years were asked to take part in a poster competition with the message of keeping our green spaces clean, and encouraging visitors to take litter home with them, when bins are full.

We had a fantastic response, with a range of inspiring designs from children all over the borough. We are pleased to announce that the winner of our Easter poster competition is 8 year old Mariam Hasan from Mayespark Primary School. Her bright and colourful design with the message “Clean up your litter, keep your park clean” is exactly the kind of encouraging message we can get behind!

Competition winner Mariam Hasan holding her winning design

“My favourite park is Goodmayes Park because I like the playground and climbing frame there and has a great path for bike riding”
– Mariam

Well done to Mariam for her thoughtful design.
