{"id":18836,"date":"2020-04-02T16:37:54","date_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:37:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visionrcl.org.uk\/?p=18836"},"modified":"2023-06-28T09:42:05","modified_gmt":"2023-06-28T08:42:05","slug":"help-for-sport-and-physical-activity-through-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isca00.bigwaveserver.co.uk\/~visionrc\/help-for-sport-and-physical-activity-through-coronavirus\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial help for the sport and physical activity sector through coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Sport England are making up to \u00a3195 million of funding available to help the sport and physical activity sector through the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The money will help their partners, clubs and community organisations cope with the short and long-term impact of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The package, which is a combination of National Lottery and government funding, is made up of the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A \u00a320 million Community Emergency Fund, which is now open for clubs and community organisations to bid into. Grants between \u00a3300 and \u00a310,000 are available <\/li><li> A \u00a35 million pot for existing partners to bid into if they&#8217;re facing specific financial difficulty <\/li><li>An additional \u00a355 million to support the sector during an ongoing period of restrictions, to fund new and innovative ways to keep people active and, when the period of restrictions is over, to help organisations get back to business and adjust to a different environment <\/li><li>A \u00a3115 million rollover of current funding into 2021\/22 to give long term certainty to over 100 well-established partners who play a vital role in the delivery of sport and physical activity in England. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside this, given cashflow concerns in the sector, Sport England have also agreed to\u202fconsider requests to release six months of the coming year\u2019s funding (50% of awards) to their partners, meaning additional funding will be available sooner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe want the sector not just to come through this crisis but to be in a position to thrive again in the future and this package will ease the pressure on a huge number of the organisations who are central to that.\u201d <\/p><cite>  Sport England chief executive Tim Hollingsworth <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportengland.org\/news\/195-million-package-help-sport-and-physical-activity-through-coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See the full details on the Sport England website<\/a> <br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportengland.org\/how-we-can-help\/our-funds\/community-emergency-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More about the Fund<\/a> gives you information and criteria about who can apply and what can be funded. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sport England are making up to \u00a3195 million of funding available to help the sport and physical activity sector through the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
