{"id":105400,"date":"2024-10-30T11:33:12","date_gmt":"2024-10-30T11:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visionrcl.org.uk\/?page_id=105400"},"modified":"2024-11-12T10:10:29","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T10:10:29","slug":"islamic-arts-heritage-festival-2024","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/isca00.bigwaveserver.co.uk\/~visionrc\/islamic-arts-heritage-festival-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamic Arts &amp; Heritage Festival 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-pink-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d521a96dfd9bda7ce14a5ab9a13eff0d\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:800\">Islamic Arts &amp; Heritage Festival 2024<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This November,&nbsp;Vision RCL&nbsp;is&nbsp;supporting local communities to celebrate Islamic Arts and Heritage as part of Islamophobia Awareness Month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In Redbridge Central Library<\/strong>, the&nbsp;Islamic Arts &amp; Heritage Festival&nbsp;aims&nbsp;to&nbsp;promote&nbsp;cultural understanding,&nbsp;shared&nbsp;learning,&nbsp;and&nbsp;community cohesion&nbsp;through&nbsp;exhibition&nbsp;displays,&nbsp;engaging&nbsp;families&nbsp;in&nbsp;arts and&nbsp;crafts&nbsp;activities, short film&nbsp;screenings, recommended&nbsp;book collections and&nbsp;much&nbsp;more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone is welcome and invited to take part,&nbsp;to&nbsp;learn and gain a greater understanding of our borough\u2019s&nbsp;rich&nbsp;cultural diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-white-color has-purple-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-e2ada7bf786c2fa925d4bebe0c4f7a3d\">Activities on the day: Sunday 17 November, 11am &#8211; 4pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:40% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"195\" height=\"88\" src=\"https:\/\/visionrcl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/logo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-105434 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Performance<\/strong> &#8211; Children from Al Noor Primary School will open the festival at 11am with a recitation from the Qur&#8217;an. A school choir will also perform a song and demonstrate their drumming skills on traditional drums.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-pink-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-pink-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 40%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-purple-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bcf100c0d0b97e931dd53636b18c5b39\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:800\">          Studio 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Geometric Stencil Designs &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>an interactive activity for children and adults to use various stencils of geometric design and create their own\u00a0prints to take away.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Under 5s Activity: Decorate a Mosque &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Children can choose from 3 different mosques to decorate. They will use coloured tissue paper, glitter paper, and lace. They will also learn where each mosque is located in the world.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Famous Quotes<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; an interactive activity where participants match a quote with the famous person who said it.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exhibition<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 A small display showcasing the history and origins of coffee linked with the Islamic traditions. Learn the stories behind each design, connecting with centuries of Islamic artistry and its architectural legacy. Using air-dry glass paints and Posca pens, create a beautiful ornament that captures light and brings a touch of this historic art into your own home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-purple-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-32b5f51736873e7dc1a12e7c075addf0\"><strong>Outside Terrace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soft Archery<\/strong> &#8211;
