Art Group at Wanstead Festival<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Art Group was established to help local amateur and professional artists show their work, and to encourage <\/strong>and inspire each other. Art isn\u2019t a mere luxury. <\/strong>Art is life-enriching, therapeutic, confidence-boosting and can even make you see the world differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of Art Group Wanstead (AGW) are preparing to show their work at the Wanstead Festival on Sunday September 14. But this year, they will also be reaching out to local festival-goers of all abilities and ages, to help create a new piece of community artwork that everyone can be proud of.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local residents and visitors, including children, will be encouraged to create their own small piece of art, on blank postcard-sized paper, to go with this year\u2019s AGW theme: Colour Me Happy. Participants will be able to focus on any subject and use any material, colours or tones \u2013 do whatever makes you<\/em> happy. Photos will be taken of each of the postcard artworks. AGW artists Theresa Hardy<\/strong> and Sharon Quinton<\/strong>, who formulated the idea, will carefully knit the artwork together digitally to create a \u2018patchwork’ banner that can be displayed in and around Wanstead. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Brenda Coyle <\/strong>will guide her students\u2019 display and offer one to one \u201cPainting for the Petrified\u201d mini-sessions, perfect for anyone who feels unsure about painting. She\u2019ll help build confidence and get you started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Botanical artist and watercolour tutor Katherine Poluck <\/strong>will demonstrate and show individuals how to paint butterflies and flowers. Drop by anytime, it’s beginner-friendly!

Curious about painting but don\u2019t know where to start? These mini sessions are designed to walk you through the basics, answer your questions, and introduce you to materials like paints, papers, and brushes. You might even leave inspired to paint at home or join a class!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
