About the park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ray Park is a large park which boasts a vast expanse of green space. It benefits from a mature landscape and offers great space for dog walking and leisurely strolls through the park and along the River Roding which runs next to the park. Situated in a large residential area, the park is the hub, offering a variety of activities for families. It\u2019s a great space for informal sport and has tennis courts and a full size football pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Orienteering is a great sport for runners, joggers and walkers who want to improve their navigation skills or for anyone who loves the outdoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use the maps to navigate the course at your own pace, maps cost \u00a31 and are available from the James Leal Centre caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Leal Centre<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The centre is a state of the art, eco building, which was officially opened in December 2009. It is located near the children\u2019s play areas, outdoor gym, tennis and basketball courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Nature Conservation Team<\/strong><\/a> are based here offering talks, events and information regarding nature and history. The Centre features a caf\u00e9 which is a friendly local meeting place offering a selection of beverages and fresh food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secret Walled Gardens<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Did you know the park was home to a historic walled garden? Our Nature Conservation<\/strong><\/a> team use the outdoor space for educational and volunteer events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring a fire pit, pond and dipping platforms, mini-orchard, meadow habitat, vegetable patch, bird feeding station, and much more, schools and local community group come to learn about nature and ecology in this safe outdoor environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outdoor Gym<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ray Park features an outdoor gym which is free to use and fun way to stay way to stay active whilst getting some fresh air. By using the outdoor gyms frequently this will enable you to maintain\/lose weight, strengthen your body, increase your fitness levels and improve mental wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tennis<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to funding from LTA and the UK Government renovation of tennis courts in Redbridge Parks is now underway with some nearly completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
