She won a scholarship to study in&nbsp;L\u2019\u00c9cole&nbsp;Nationale&nbsp;Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts&nbsp;D\u00e9coratifs, where she learned to combine bold&nbsp;colour and mark-making with poetry.&nbsp; She wrote <strong><em>To&nbsp;The Other Side<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;as a reaction to the US separation policy in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flavia Z Drago\u2019s<\/strong> debut picture book, <em>Gustavo the Shy Ghost<\/em> (2020) became a #1 NY Times bestseller. It was followed by <em>Leila the Perfect Witch<\/em> (2022) and <em>Vlad the Fabulous Vampire<\/em> (2023).
