Touch Tour and Audio Described Parade by VocalEyes – Ilford
Audio-described by VocalEyes
We’d like our exciting Festival of the Dead parade to be enjoyed by everyone, including blind and visually impaired audiences. We are pleased to be offering a Touch Tour and live Audio Description of the parades with VocalEyes.
What is a Touch Tour?
Touch Tours are for blind, visually impaired and SEN audiences to become familiar with the performance area, set, props and sounds used in the show. It is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have that would help when watching the show.
The Ilford Touch Tour will take place from 4 pm-4:30 pm at Kenneth More Theatre and will include a visit to ‘Journey with Absent Friends’ installation.
What is Audio Description?
Audio description (AD) is a verbal commentary that explains what is happening in theatre or TV, focusing on visual elements such as text on screen, characters’ appearances, facial expressions, movements, or visual jokes. (VocalEyes)
Accessibility note: There are approximately 30 metres distance to travel from Kenneth More Theatre to a seated outdoor access area for the parade. Tarmac surfaces.
Whilst the Touch Tour may take place indoors, the parade is outdoors and so please dress warmly!
