Festival of the Dead – Ilford Procession
Grab your lanterns, masks and glowsticks to help bring Ilford alive in a grand spectacle of puppets led by The Lantern Company.
Take a moment to honour your loved ones and join the celebration of life – with Las Muertas stilt walkers and live music from some very special guests!
The Line up
Spark! – Come along to see these playful illuminated drummers as they use captivating and dramatic music to interact with the crowd and lead spectators on a spellbinding journey.
Catch them roaming the High Steet at 12.30pm with a taster performance before the main procession!
Lantern Company – Meet the Skellies as they tower over you, dance, play and guide you along the procession route!
Las Muertas stilt walkers – Meet these ethereal characters as they flicker with light and burst with colour.
Catch them roaming inside and outside the library at 2pm and 4pm before joining the main procession!
Los Soneros Mariachi duo – Let them serenade you as they bring you the best of Latin rhythms from Latin-American and Cuban music.
Catch them roaming inside and outside the library at 1pm and approx. 3.15pm before the main procession!
This is Mexico! Folk Dance Group – Watch them as they celebrate the joy of Mexican culture through traditional dance.

The Ilford Procession will gather inside the library 30 minutes before the start of the event.
